Woodland Trust Energy
In the last few years, we have seen a surge in people looking for sustainable energy options. More and more people are looking for ways to live a low carbon lifestyle. Woodland Trust Energy is an excellent choice for those who care about the environment and want to save money on their energy bills with its renewable electricity options.
In February 2021, the Woodland Trust and OVO Energy launched their Energy Project, which brings together energy providers to promote renewable energy and save customers money on their energy bills. This new scheme has been designed to work alongside OVO’s existing options and should be available in March 2021.
The Woodland Trust will receive 10% of the money you spend with ovo on your energy bill. The Woodland Trust uses this money to support its work to protect, restore and create woodlands. By supporting the Energy Project, you are helping to protect and create our significant British woodlands for future generations to enjoy. This scheme is also supported by OVO’s commitment to use our money responsibly and deliver value for money.

Some examples of what they do include protecting and restoring ancient woodland sites, managing sites under threat from development and creating new woods from scratch. They also try to ensure that people can use and enjoy our woodlands by creating access points, trails and events like Woodland Walks.
Woodland Trust Energy offers a category of tariffs that work alongside OVO’s existing energy options. This allows you to continue using ovo Energy with the addition of supporting the Woodland Trust.
How Woodland Trust Electricity is Produced
The Woodland Trust has partnered with the UK’s leading renewable energy company, Good Energy. It is a green energy supplier that uses renewable sources such as solar, wind, hydro and biomass. It, therefore, doesn’t need to rely on fossil fuels to create electricity.
The benefits of Woodland Trust Electricity
The Woodland Trust will receive a 10% share of the money you spend on your energy bill. This money will be used to fund their projects – protecting, creating and managing woodlands across the UK so that people can enjoy them for years to come.
Woodland Trust Energy helps you to reduce your carbon footprint. This will positively impact the world, reducing the greenhouse effect and helping to safeguard Britain’s wildlife and environment.
Stand out from the crowd. Not all energy companies financially support environmental projects, which is why the Woodland Trust Energy partnership with OVO Energy is so unique! By using Woodland Trust Electricity, you support this win-win situation where you can get cheaper energy bills and a greener environment.
You can learn more and start on the Woodland Trust’s website.
Environmentally focused, the Woodland Trust works to protect, restore and create woodlands throughout the UK. The charity’s conservation work covers many tree-rich areas of England and Wales, including some of the country’s most important ancient woodland sites such as Borough Green near London, Heme Hill in Gloucestershire or Glastonbury Tor Somerset.
Good Energy sources electricity for more than 500,000 customers from 100% renewable energy sources. It uses hydroelectric power when the reservoir is high, usually in the winter, and wind and solar power when there is more sunshine in the summer. By 2030, Good Energy plans to produce all its electricity from renewable sources such as hydroelectricity, wind turbines, and solar panels.
Can Woodland Trust Electricity Support the Woodland Trust?
The Woodland Trust is not the only charity that benefits from buying renewable electricity. You can also support other charities by buying renewable electricity through Good Energy. The charities include Greenpeace, Macmillan Cancer Support, WWF and many more!
The Woodland Trust will receive 10% of your electricity bill when you switch to Woodland Trust Electricity. They use this money to support the conservation of our woodlands across the UK. You can help them by creating new woods and protecting those under threat.
