Wrike Development and History
Wrike helps teams focus on completing work rather than task management and collaboration. In addition to saving time, Wrike is flexible and has low barriers to onboarding employees. This low barrier to onboarding leads to increased employee productivity and satisfaction.
Wrike has 400 employees, an office in Redwood City, CA, and Kyiv, Ukraine. It was started in 2006 by Andrew Filev. In 2007, Wrike raised £7.5 million in funding led by Google Ventures, Benchmark Capital and Highland Capital Partners.
Wrike has many enterprise customers, including CEB, Chevron, Capital One, Merck and the European Space Agency.
The base of users consists primarily of small businesses (almost exclusively in the United States), with the majority being located in California. The company says that Wrike users have reported a 100% increase in productivity after using its app for only two weeks through reductions in time spent doing work that does not contribute to the attainment of actual business results. Productivity within teams that use Wrike for more than six months has been reported to increase even further.
Wrike’s product began as a website that allowed remote teams to share files on a private network or via BitTorrent. It was later rebranded as Wrike when it transitioned from a hosting service to software as a service (SaaS) and added features such as Project Portfolios and communication with other company apps (such as Salesforce).

Wrike Groups are tailored for specific teams or issues. You can join as a member to contribute content or ask relevant questions for your team. Administrators can add groups and manage them. Groups can be private or public so that community members can access them from the public group’s page. The admin can also see all individual users’ activity within each group and how many times they were invited, if invites were accepted or rejected by the admin, etc.
