Waste Oil Collection: The Best UK Companies to Help Your Business in 2023
Waste oil collection has many benefits, and many different companies are available to you. Some pay for the oil you collect; others provide money-off vouchers for biodiesel or recycled products. Just one litre of used cooking oil can provide renewable energy to power a flat-screen TV for three hours. Currently, oils poured down the drain can damage UK sewers and drains to the tune of £15 million annually. Read on to learn how you can minimise your environmental impact by correctly disposing of your waste oil.

Enva
Enva, a leading provider of resource recovery solutions, has expanded its service portfolio to include waste oil collection in the UK and Ireland. The company has recently acquired Associated Reclaimed Oils Limited (ARO), a specialist waste lubricant oil collection company with a long track record in the industry. ARO currently collects around 10 million litres of waste lubricants each year and will now be fully integrated into Enva’s waste oil collection business.
Enva’s waste oil collection UK facility can process up to 10,000 tonnes of oily rags each year. By internalising the entire process, the company maximises the quality of the recovered materials. The process starts with a thorough shredding process to remove unwanted material. Then, it passes through multiple recycling technologies. The recovered oil is first processed in two centrifuges. From here, it is further treated in an oil treatment facility at Enva’s site.
This includes separating metals from non-ferrous metals, plastics, and other contaminants. The solid material is then recycled into renewable waste fuels for industries with high energy needs.
Enva, the specialist provider of recycling and resource recovery solutions, has recently signed a contract with Norbord. This agreement will see Enva continue to provide waste management services to the engineered wood-based panel manufacturer until 2024. Over the past two years, Enva has worked with Norbord to manage over 3,000 tonnes of material while reducing its non-hazardous waste costs by 17 per cent.
The contract will also see Enva working with Norbord to analyse the waste composition of its general waste and optimise its recycling services. The contract also states that Enva will take reasonable precautions to protect the site and underground services from damage. However, the liability of Enva for damage to the site, property, or structure is limited to replacement products. Furthermore, Enva is not responsible for any consequential loss, injury, or damage incurred by the Purchaser.
