History of MegaPath
MegaPath was a telecoms firm for businesses. MegaPath was purchased by Fusion Connect, a CSP platform, for £71.5 million in 2018. Initially created in 1996, it offers carriers and service-provider enterprises in the United States voice, system integration, internet connectivity, Management Intelligence Services, and digital services. Pleasanton, California, had been the firm’s headquarters.
- MegaPath bought Speakeasy, a voice communications firm, and Covad, a network operator, in 2010 and combined them alongside their preexisting MPLS and managed services platform to create a cohesive business.
- The corporation purchased IP5280 in 2012. In addition, a countrywide Ethernet over copper (EoC) network extension was established.
- MegaPath introduced its Unified Communications solution in 2014. Global Capacity, a Chicago-based services firm, signed a formal deal with MegaPath to buy MegaPath’s Wholesale Network Services business unit at about the same timeframe.
- On January 6, 2015, MegaPath and Global Capacity completed this deal. MegaPath said it would focus on generating development and growing its core value-added Voice, Data, Security, and Cloud services when the acquisition closes.
- Together with a piece of its management services business, the firm stated intentions to concentrate more significantly on the high-growth cloud and unified communications industries.
Background of Megapath:
Notice and MegaPath merged into one company in a stock and cash deal. The budgetary terms of the agreement aren’t being disclosed since both enterprises are privately owned. The combined businesses are estimated to generate around £125 million in revenue each year.
MegaPath seems to have a much larger and broader customer base, comprising over or about 14,000 users. However, roughly only about half of them are significant businesses. The notice claims to have 2,000 clients, all of whom are medium and big corporations.
MegaPath exclusively offers managed IP VPN services based on IPsec, even though these service operators and network providers supply IP VPN services. The notice provides IP VPN services based on MPLS and SSL. Notice purchased the other from Aventail a little over a year ago. Aventail’s Managed SSL VPN Services business unit was sold for an unknown sum, together with its 120 clients, 85 staff, and networking resources.
What MegaPath Offers:
MegaPath offers voice services. MegaPath provided sponsored voice services to enterprises with one or more locations to its clients, whether businesses or individuals.
Its voice services include:
- locate me/follow me,
- graphic voicemail,
- phone calls and their recordings,
- mobile connectivity to reduce the price, complications, and complexities of operating, running, and maintaining a PBX.
Clients may leverage the benefits of VoIP using their current PBX equipment using its SIP trunking and corporate trunking services.
MegaPath and CounterPath Corporation established cooperation in July 2014 to supply CounterPath Bria desktop, tablet, and mobile unified telecommunication services via MegaPath’s Hosted Voice service. Presence, instant messaging, screen capture collaborative effort, texting, fixed-mobile converging, and teleconferencing, video calling, are all part of the Unified Communications system.
- It also offers cloud services, Cloud hosting, hosted exchange, hosted data backup, and hosted Microsoft SharePoint, among MegaPath Cloud’s offerings. MegaPath has already surrendered its wholesale division and expects to invest more funds in the cloud and managed services.
- MegaPath announced intentions to transfer its wholesale division to Pivotal Group, a private equity company, to concentrate its operations and devote more energy, assets and funds to its cloud and service management companies.
- MegaPath provides security solutions which include private communication, MPLS, IPsec, and SSL VPN, to link globally disparate and mobile workforces.
- MegaPath also supplied comprehensive risk management solutions, which also included anti-virus and anti-spyware security, penetration testing, web application firewalls, and web filtering, among other things.
- Compliance Services were also available, which addressed log, vulnerability, and information security management concern aspects of the business, such as PCI compliance.
- MegaPath would continue to deliver cloud-based solutions to clients and collaborators while also retaining their wholesale connections with existing service providers and telecom operators such as GTT to supply high-quality Broadband connectivity, secure networking, and managed security services.
- MegaPath’s collaboration with GTT further allowed it to broaden its Broadband service solutions to include international services and additional high-performance connection capabilities.
MegaPath Locations:
MegaPath has one location, which is in Seattle, and it employs 352 employees and receives 26.3 million dollars in funding.
MegaPath Reviews:
- MegaPath aims to provide competitive Cloud-based Voice, Security, and Internet Solutions to corporate clients and partners while providing a great customer experience. The company places a high emphasis on its customers. Since MegaPath has become Fashion connect, experts are constantly available to answer any queries about technological concerns, marketing solutions, or associate and press enquiries.
- They also provide broad application gateways for existing clients to monitor their accounts and activities and have up-to-date knowledge sources and support manuals.
- It has received mixed reviews, with most customers agreeing that the price is excellent and works nicely when it does. However, their customer service and follow up are not excellent, and some even accused them of being dishonest by concealing hidden fees, which were significant for some and quite misleading.
