InterCall
InterCall is a conference calling phone system designed by West. InterCall is a solution for small and medium-sized businesses looking to upgrade their existing telephones to improve their communications with clients or expand their customer base. Using VoIP, Voice over Internet Protocol, InterCall allows phones and computers to make calls using the internet and therefore work remotely. Additionally, three plans are available, encouraging exclusivity and offering a solution no matter how many agents need to be included in the package.

What is InterCall?
InterCall is a provider of conferencing and collaboration solutions, including both audio and web conferencing services. While InterCall offers various communication services, it is important to note that as of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, InterCall does not provide a specific Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service or advertise itself as a dedicated VoIP provider. However, InterCall offers audio conferencing services that allow participants to join conference calls using traditional phone lines. These services often include call recording, participant management, and call controls.
InterCall provides web-based collaboration tools for web conferencing that enable participants to join virtual meetings and share screens, presentations, and documents. These web conferencing services typically include features like chat, polling, whiteboarding, and other collaboration capabilities.
InterCall Audio Conferencing
The 10-Participant plan is for the smallest businesses; finding an affordable plan that includes all the necessary tools to make your phone system effective can be challenging. The most straightforward InterCall plan allows up to ten agents to use the system, meaning there are ten lines for £14.40 each month. Because of the dedicated dial-in number, everyone can reach the same call and access the meeting, making collaborating easier during seminars and increasing productivity.
The 25 Participant plan is most efficient if you are a small business with up to 25 agents, for £22 monthly. It has all of the same key features as the 10 Participant plan. However, it allows more agents to join conferences simultaneously, which is crucial for not leaving any members out. Additionally, you can make the conference calls toll-free, meaning that the calls are free for the person making the call, for £0.04 per minute for every agent.
If these plans are not suitable for your business because you plan to have more agents in conference calls, the Pay as You Go plan allows up to 125 employees to be present. It is not a fixed monthly payment, so it does not benefit from the same estimated bill every month. However, at £0.08p per minute for each agent, it is a reasonably priced plan if you have more employees and cannot benefit from the previous plans. Furthermore, it includes the same features as the other two plans but is also toll-free at no extra cost.
InterCall Unified Meeting
Whilst Audio Conferencing is beneficial. It is only effective in collaborating through voice calls. On the other hand, Unified Meeting 5 uses a range of software integrated into the platform to hold conferences through voice calling and other devices. For example, the Outlook integration allows all employees to use the Outlook software whilst on call. This way, you can speak to other colleagues, send emails, and create date reminders in the included calendars. This integration is helpful because you can multitask, boost productivity, collaborate on specific emails, set important reminders like meetings or deadlines, and help other employees.
Additionally, as it is all one interface, you do not have to browse various media to find the necessary software.
The Unified Meeting 5 has three plans with up to 10, 25, and 125 agents, priced at £19 per month, £29.50 per month, and £0.13 per use. Although it is more expensive than audio conferencing, there is also a greater chance for collaborating in real-time with other employees, therefore completing tasks faster and improving communications.
InterCall Optional Features
- A few optional InterCall features can be added to the cost of all plans, should the business feel that they will benefit from them.
- For example, the ‘News on Hold’ feature for £3.75 each month is a smart way of keeping employees alert whilst waiting for the conference call to start, ensuring that they are entertained whilst on hold and aware that the call will start soon.
- Another extra feature you can buy is pre-recorded greetings before each agent enters the call.
- This is not an identical message for everyone and can be changed depending on who the agent is, making it a great way to update specific employees on any messages you may have for them or let them know of any notifications.
Lastly, the’ Post Conference Emails’ option is beneficial for condensing all of the information during the conference call. Whilst conferences are educational and essential. It is easy to forget them in the coming days no matter how intently you are focused; hence, it is crucial to remember what was covered. It summarises the conference’s purpose, ideas that were brought up, queries anyone may have had and even statistics to serve as evidence.
InterCall – To Conclude
InterCall audio conferencing is an affordable way to make one call with lots of participants, with three different plans depending on how many agents your business needs to include. However, if you wish to benefit from integrations, Unified Meeting 5 is encouraged.
